Glink Professional Edition, update 7.1.3 is available
Glink Professional Edition, update 7.1.3 is now available. Your local distributor may download it for installation on production sites. This update is available free of charge to customers with a service contract for Glink Professional. Customers with a service contract for Glink Standard Edition can upgrade at a special discount. Customers with no service contract must purchase a license upgrade.
Please note that this version includes a minor GlinkApi syntax enhancement and some GlinkFTP improvements.
This release is primarily a maintenance release that corrects errors detected in the original 7.1.0 release.
The details of errors corrected are documented in the known error pages of our web server, and are listed in the announcement for our technical list.
Constant definitions are slightly different in the Glink for Java and Windows versions due to differences in Java and COM+. In the Windows COM+ version the constants are global values rather than part of the actual class, so Java syntax with a dot such as GlinkEvent.CONNECTED or GlinkKey.HOME become GlinkEvent_CONNECTED and GlinkKey_HOME. This applies to all the defined constants, e.g.:
GlinkEvent_STARTED
GlinkConfiguration_PROTOCOL_TNVIP
GlinkField_ATR_HIDDEN
GlinkApi_SEARCH_FORWARD
GlinkKey_TRANSMIT
GlinkKey_END
The old definitions (pre 7.1.3) did not include the class name prefix which caused some language dependent clashes with certain words such as END, UP, CONNECTED etc. These new definition names will not influence precompiled GlinkApi programs, but will simplify new development.
Two new files are included in this release, GLINK.JS and GLINK.VBS. They contain the GlinkApi constants defined above and are loaded automatically by Glink when running JScript or VBScript files.
A couple of buttons have been added to the GlinkFTP toolbar, one for calling the online help and one for exiting. The standard Glink toolbar images have been used for consistency. If the font is available, GlinkFTP now uses Tahoma for dialog boxes and the main file list windows. Lucida Console is used for the trace window. The file modify times are now displayed in the short format of hours/minutes. The current File List view (large icons, small icons, list or details) is now saved when you exit. The current Columns (Name, Size, Type, Modified and Attributes) widths are now also saved when you exit.
